Connected speakers FAQ
Beolink Multiroom
To stream music to your speakers, use your favourite streaming app from your phone or tablet while connected to your Wi-Fi network. Depending on your product, you have three streaming options: - Beolink multiroom: requires the Bang & Olufsen App. - AirPlay: you can activate it by selecting the AirPlay symbol on your phone or streaming app. - Google Cast : you can activate it by selecting the Google Cast symbol on your phone or streaming app (requires the Google Home App).
You have multiple streaming and connectivity options with Bang & Olufsen speakers. One of them is Beolink Multiroom, a simple way to connect different Bang & Olufsen products together across your home to enjoy a more powerful and personal music listening experience.
From iconic loudspeakers of the 80's to popular modern wi-fi speakers, Beolink Multiroom makes it all work together. It gives you freedom to expand music to any room in the house and to join in on music experiences from other rooms.
To start using Beolink Multiroom, you will need to: 1. Plug in your speaker. 2. In your smartphone or tablet, make sure you are connected to your Wi-Fi network (please note that your Bang & Olufsen products should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device). 3. Download the Bang & Olufsen App and follow the instructions to create a profile. 4. In the App, add your speakers and follow the instructions to add them to the network. 5. Then, go to the multiroom tab and push + to select the speakers you want to play music on. Now you can start playing music and more on your speakers.
One Touch to Music allows you to start your music quickly and easily without using your phone. To activate this feature, tap on the favourite buttons or, if available, the circle icon on top of your speaker.
You can also use your Beoremote to start playing music from your preferred source. Note that this feature is available once your speakers are set up in the Bang & Olufsen App.
To adjust your speaker's sound modes, start the Bang & Olufsen App and select your speaker. In the listening modes section, go to the Beosonic equalizer and move the circle to the audio settings you prefer: warm, bright, relaxed or energetic. You can save the settings as personal listening modes for easy access next time you activate the speaker.
You can connect new speakers to Beolink Multiroom using the Bang & Olufsen app. 1. Plug in your speaker and wait for a minute. 2. Go to the Bang & Olufsen App and follow the instructions to add the speaker or speakers to your home network. 3. Once added, the speakers will automatically appear in the app. 4. Go to the multiroom tab and use the + button to add the speaker to your multiroom experience.
With Beolink Multiroom, you can extend the music to other rooms. If you are listening to your favourite music in the living room and want to expand the experience to e.g., a bedroom, you will need to: 1. Go to the multiroom tab in the Bang & Olufsen App. 2. Press on the + button next to your bedroom speaker and music will start playing in the bedroom as well. 3. You now have synchronised music in two rooms. 4. You can also use the ‘Join’ feature on your Beoremote One to add your kitchen speaker to the music experience. 5. You can find the ‘Join’ option under the ’Music’ button on Beoremote One.
With Beolink Multiroom, if music is playing in one room, you can join the experience with a speaker in another room. Some of our speakers have a ‘Play’ button that allows you to join with one single touch. You can also use Beoremote One to activate the feature by pressing on ‘Music’ and then ‘Join’ in the menu to have a synchronised music experience in two rooms. You can join a music experience from multiple rooms if you like. Each speaker has individual volume control, and if you wish, you can also switch off a speaker in one room without affecting the music playing in any of the other rooms. Please note that the Join feature works for music streaming with Beolink Multiroom only. If you are streaming music with Airplay or Google Cast this is not possible.
All Bang & Olufsen connected speakers have a 'Join' feature. You can activate the ‘Join’ function from any room. By using this feature, you will join in on the source that was activated last in a setup. If your family is enjoying a playlist in the living room, you can listen to the same music in the kitchen. If you change channel or source in any of the rooms, the next time you ‘Join’ from a room, you will join that new selection. You always ’Join’ the source that was selected or changed last.
You can expand the experience to any speakers in your Beolink Multiroom setup simply by selecting them in the Bang & Olufsen app: 1. Go to the multiroom tab in the Bang & Olufsen App. 2. Press on the + button next to the speakers you want to add, and music will start playing in them as well.
You can switch off your music in all rooms by pushing a single button. We call it the all-standby feature and it is unique to Bang & Olufsen. This feature is convenient if you are leaving your home and want to make sure everything is switched off in all rooms. Learn how to activate the all-stand-by function in the FAQs below.

Connected speakers setup
Select your speakers based on the size of your space, your placement options, your preferred design style, and the performance you are looking for. We have speakers suited for a variety of purposes: seated cinematic experiences, social gatherings in a large room, background music in the home office, music for smaller rooms, and speakers that can easily be moved around.
With wireless speakers you can choose between multiple placement options, and the speakers can adjust their performance to their position for the best sound experience. Depending on the speaker model, you may be able to use a manual switch to optimise the speaker performance to its placement in the room or you may benefit from an automatic room compensation feature. With a manual switch, you can choose between wall, corner or freestanding placement. With automatic room compensation, the speaker calibrates itself to its position in the room. You can also choose the room compensation feature in the Bang & Olufsen App to get the optimal music experience.
